A WEIRD PHONE BILL

A Canadian oil-field worker, stunned to get a C$85,000 ($83,700) cell phone bill, has had the charges reduced to C$3,400, but is still fighting them.

Piotr Staniaszek, a 22-year-old oil and gas well tester in rural northwest Alberta, became a figure of international media attention this week when his father went to the press to complain about the size of his son's bill.

Staniaszek's father, also named Piotr Staniaszek, said his son thought he could use his new phone as a modem for his computer as part of his C$10 unlimited browser plan from Bell Mobility, a division of Bell Canada.

He downloaded movies and other high-resolution files un aware of the charges they would incur.

"He's working in the field sometimes, alone, in the shack. What to do? Drink vodka or go on the Internet?" Staniaszek senior told Reuters on Thursday from Calgary, Alberta.

"Now it's $85,000 and nobody told him," he said.

According to his invoice, the son rang up C$60,000 in charges in November, and they have since climbed to C$85,000.

Staniaszek senior said Bell has agreed to reduce the charges to C$3,400 for "goodwill".

"It's still high...Who can afford it?" he said, adding his son can barely make payments on a new truck he bought for work, and will continue to fight the charges.

A Bell spokesman said the plan is not intended for downloading files to a computer, and that's clear in his contract. Very weird right ?

COLOR CHANGING SNAKE

A newfound species of poisonous snake have developed an unusual way to keep enemies by spontaneously changing its skin color.

The iridescent serpent, discovered in the Indonesian section of the island of Borneo of the international conservation organization WWF announced today. A WWF team found the snake during a 2004 survey of the island's reptile diversity.
"I put the reddish-brown snake in a dark bucket," Mark Auleya, a German reptile expert. "When I retrieved it a few minutes later, it is entirely white."
Auleya found the 0.5-meter-long snake in wetlands and swamps near the River in Kerihun National Park. The scientists believe ,it survives only in the wet areas.
"Its ability to change color has kept it hidden from science until now. I guess it just picked the wrong color that day",said the scientist.
A handful of other reptiles are known to be able to rapidly change their pigmentation chameleon color change, and the trait is a defense mechanism in some snakes. The researchers don't know how or why the new snake species makes the change, but they speculate it could be a warning behavior.
If they have found the reason behind the color change,i will try to use it to escape from my teachers.

The game was a card-match memory game ,that includes numericals from 1 to 9 ,shows in some random. The numbers were then replaced by blank squares, which the players had to touch them correctly, based on their knowledge of numerical sequences.

4 BILLION YEAR OLD MAN IN MOON!!!!!

The plains of solidified lava that give the moon its quirky human-like face were created more than 4 billion years ago, a new study says.
This evidence came from an unearthly silvery-grey stone that blasted off from the face of the moon, perhaps by an impacting asteroid, and was then captured by earth's gravity, prompting to fall to ground in Botswana.
In 1999 march, local people near the village of Kuke, in the grasslands of the Kalahari Nature Reserve, found the 13 kilogram remnant of this roving rock.They later sold it to meteorite hunters.The nature of the chemicals puts the rock into the category of a mare basalt.
This is lava that flowed out smoothly onto the lunar surface before solidifying, forming darker plains that early skywatchers mistakenly took for mare(seas) .A new analysis of fragments of phosphate in this lava puts the rocks at whopping old age of 4.35 billion years.
This suggests that this mare-type volcanism must have occurred, just after the first stage of lunar crust formation.
Mare volcanism must have overlapped with a later stage of volcanism, evidence of which was found in rocks picked up by the Apollo missions.
The 'man in the moon' comprises its eyes made of the Mare Imbrium and Mare Serenitatis, a nose consisting of Sinus Aestuum, while the Mare Nubium and Mare Cognitum provide the mouth.These account for nearly seventh of the lunar surface, mostly on the part of the moon's side visible from earth.

December , the month of celebrations ,all through the world .This middle of winter has been a long time , a season of holy things.

Early Europeans celebrated light and birth in the darkest days of winter,before the arrival of the holy man Jesus.Many people rejoiced during these winter solstice , when the worst of the winter was behind them and they could look forward to longer days and extended hours of sunlight.

In recognition of the return of the sun,men would set fire on large logs.The Scandinavian people would feast until the log burns out,that could take the more of about twelve days.

Germans , who have honoured pagan god Oden during the winter ,believed that he make nocturnal flights through the sky to observe them ,his people, and then decide who would prosper or perish. Because of his presence, many people would chose to stay inside.

The end of December was a perfect time for celebration in most areas of Europe. At that time of year, most of the cattle were slaughtered so they need not to be fed during the winter. Hence , it was the only time of year when they had a supply of fresh meat.Most wine and beer made during the year, was finally fermented and ready for drinking.

11-th hour preparation!!!!

Most of us do the very same thing .......
Remembering that the next day is the exam,with lots of fear ,bags of syllabus ,with a burden of mind on how to set away the time limit for each unit................fear comes the way.I once read some golden words that,"What is fear???--Fear is the quality which comes on your way,when there is only few hours remaining for the exam .............still the pages of your book smell new",it has been specifically written for us i think,,,,,,,but on reading this i truly got scared ,as i read the message sent by my friend just 2 hours before the exam.
i do not know whether it is a mistake or a chance to show our ability!!! I know well that you would have done the same process of preparation during exams.........but however you the "book worms",will not have any experience with it!!! But i make it always(me wishing to change the practice as the tension leaves me in bad health......i even torture my mom!!!)
What to do ,it is not that we cannot study like others ,we are tuned like that.........wanna change it!!!! all the best..........as i will not do that now after as .....my exams are over now!!!!
Again this 11th hour will be after 6-months only(for next semester)!!!!
